Kristin Goddard

Kristin Goddard is a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms 2021-2022 cohort member.  She has focused her unit study on global education in the ELA classroom, specifically focusing on research methodology and the link between local action and global competency.

Kristin is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the 10th grade English teacher at the State College of Florida Collegiate School in Bradenton, Florida. She is also an adjunct instructor in the Liberal Arts Department at the Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida.

Her passion for global education began in the summer of 2018 when she took 25 exchange students to Europe as an American coordinator with the German-American Partnership Program (GAPP). The month-long exchange took students through the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany and the major cities of Belgium. Kristin also spent time in Amsterdam, the Normandy region of France, and Paris. The picture to the left was taken on the Place du Carrousel near the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

Since this trip, Kristin has continued to study the German language and culture and has obtained a Level 5 certification in Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). She hopes to teach English for Business Purposes in Germany someday.

Her experience in the Fulbright TGC program has expanded her approach to global awareness in the classroom and will continue to impact her professional and personal journeys.
